BIOGRAPHY

Alberto Fusco is an internationally sold and exhibited London-based Italian artist. To further pursue his passion for figurative art – and, in particular, sculpture - Fusco relocated in 1994 to London where he expanded his artistic study and practice, earning a BA (Hons) in Fine Arts at Roehampton University with a specialization in the art of mosaics.

At present, Fusco’s practice revolves around giving life to artworks by utilizing recycled paper magazines that would otherwise be discarded. The theme of giving new purpose to unwanted objects is central to Fusco and his work. He feels his role as an artist is to be an ambassador for the environment and to encourage others to reuse, reduce and recycle for a better future.

Fusco is fascinated by the process of creating unique, three-dimensional decorative forms, which materialize from flat sheets of paper. His works are created by meticulously folding and manipulating magazine pages, transforming them into material geometric shapes, which eventually develop into sculptural pieces in their own right.
